Dynamic test on test wall

OBJECTIVE: verification of a glass balustrade by means of an impact test using a mass compliant with the standard

REFERENCE STANDARD: UNI 11678 and UNI 11463:2016.

EQUIPMENT USED

• semi-rigid body (50kg twin tyre)

METHODOLOGY FOR DYNAMIC TEST:

The impact test was performed at three points using a semi-rigid body (50kg twin tyre). The tyre is positioned in such a way that the suspension cable is perpendicular to the floor surface and the impact body does not exert any thrust on the element under test. The test in question consists of applying an impact to the test points by dropping the impact mass (50 kg twin tyre) from a pre-selected height H relative to the initial level.

Specifically, three impact tests were carried out with a drop height H = 700 mm at the following points:

1. at the centerline, 100 mm from the top edge of the element under test.
2. at the centerline, at mid-height of the element.
3. near the corners, at 250 mm along the bisector line.
